Directions for St. Bertha's Cemetery

Unfortunately, there is not an official physical address for this cemetery.  GPS sometimes directs into Tuscarora instead of up the mountain.  We are working on this problem, but for now, below are some ways to easily find this cemetery.

Go to Google Directions for the general area

FROM ALLENTOWN or LEHIGHTON AREA (south of Tamaqua):

  • Take Rt. 309 North into the center of Tamaqua
  • Turn LEFT onto Broad St/Rt. 209 (3rd traffic light)
  • Drive through Tamaqua, bear left to stay on Rt. 209
  • Drive 4 miles
  • Turn LEFT onto Catawissa Rd. (at Tuscarora intersection)
  • Drive about 1 mile up mountain
  • Cemetery will be on the right at the top

FROM POCONOS AREA (north/east of Tamaqua):

  • Take Rt. 209 towards Tamaqua
  • Stay straight on Rt. 209/Broad St. (3rd traffic light)
  • Go through Tamaqua, bear left to stay on Rt. 209
  • Drive 4 miles
  • Turn RIGHT onto Catawissa Rd. (at Tuscarora intersection)
  • Drive about 1 mile up mountain
  • Cemetery will be on the right at the top

FROM HAZLETON AREA (north of Tamaqua):

  • Take 309 South to center of town
  • Turn RIGHT onto Broad St./Rt. 209 (second traffic light)
  • Go through Tamaqua, bear left to stay on Rt. 209
  • Drive 4 miles
  • Turn RIGHT onto Catawissa Rd. (at Tuscarora intersection)
  • Drive about 1 mile up mountain
  • Cemetery will be on the right at the top

FROM POTTSVILLE AREA (west of Tamaqua):

  • Take 209 North
  • After passing Mary D, turn RIGHT onto Catawissa Rd. at Tuscarora intersection (4 miles before Tamaqua)
  • Turn RIGHT onto Center St./Rt. 309
  • Drive about 1 mile up mountain
  • Cemetery will be on the right at the top
